Job Description
The Nurse Clinician, Provincial Youth Concurrent Disorders Program coordinates nursing practise activities such as patient assessment, patient and family teaching and health promotion, acts as an educational resource to the Mental Health Program staff and the community, facilitates and participates in patient conferences, and provides patient care according to established policies, standards, procedures and philosophy at Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of BC. Consults, confers and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, educational resources and other health care professionals/providers in the community. Acts as a clinical nursing resource and provides clinical leadership on interdisciplinary teams in addressing the health issues of patients. Provides clinical education services to patients and their families, staff, and other health care providers, develops education materials, and conducting education sessions using advanced theory and knowledge.
Job Requirements
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC)
• Baccalaureate in Nursing plus three (3) years recent related experience with working children, adolescents and families with concurrent Mental Health & substance use disorders, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current CPR and CPI training.
Provincial Health Services Authority
